At the House of PMO we have often referred to some PMOs as POOs or POTs. They are PMO-of-One and PMO-Of-Two and by their very definition, have only one or two people in them.
They are typically the only PMO in the organisation/department. They operate as a support-based PMO – responding to project, programme and portfolio-level requests for support – without a defined service catalogue. Reporting is often at the cornerstone of what they do. They also pick up COE activities such as designing templates, lifecycle frameworks etc.
POOs and POTs vary considerably depending on the individual(s) employed. They can range from PMO Administrators to PMO Managers (unlikely to be PMO Directors). In reality, they will cover some aspects of each of these three roles – but are often called PMO Lead.
Join us for a session where we focus on these types of PMO and how they can provide an efficient and effective service – even when there is a reduction in resources.
We’ll also provide insights and tips on how to get the best out of working in a POO or POT.
This session is an intermediate level provided for PMO Analysts, Managers and Directors.
