The House of PMO sets the standard and the syllabus for the Essentials for PMO Manager qualification.

If you are currently working in a PMO management or leadership, or hoping to become one soon,  this course will help give you knowledge and the understanding to undertake the role.

What You’ll Learn

You will learn about the role of the PMO Manager and the context within which the PMO Manager works. Specifically, the qualification covers:

  • The roles and responsibilites of the PMO Manager including the key knowledge, skills and behaviours required
  • The core competences required in Delivery Support, PMO Management and P3M Enabling. It includes setting up, running, transforming and closing PMOs.

Who is the Essentials for PMO Managers Course for?

 

The Essentials for PMO Managers course is aimed at PMO Managers, PMO Leads, aspiring PMO Managers (PMO Analysts and converts to PMO from Project/Programme Manager roles)

The following pre-requisites are applicable for this scheme:

  • Essentials for PMO Analysts OR;
  • A Practitioner certificate in either P3O®, PRINCE2®, PRAXIS Framework™, AgilePM®, MSP®, PRINCE2 Agile, APM PFQ, PMQ, PM4SD™, PMP®, PgMP®, or CAPM or equivalent OR;
  • 3 years’ experience of working within a PMO, project, programme or portfolio environment

How Do I Take the Course?

 

You can take the course through any training provider who is an accredited training organisation of APMG International.

Where can I take the course?

Training providers are accredited by APMG International to offer the course, to see the list of providers, visit the APMG International website.

How long is the course?

The course is three days long, the examination can be taken after the course in your own time online.

How much does the training cost?

Each training provider sets the price of the course they run. Prices may vary and ensure you check that the examinations are included in their prices.

Can I self-study for this course?

No, the course is only available through the training providers accredited by APMG International to deliver the courses.

What type of exam is it?

The Essentials for PMO Analysts examination is 75 minutes duration, with 60 questions.

The pass mark is 50% or more of the marks, i.e. 30 or more marks out of 60.

The exam is multiple choice and is closed-book.
