This series is about the future of the PMO. In practical terms, it is about giving PMO practitioners permission to lift our heads from the pressing challenges and to gaze at the horizon, to squint, trying to make out where we are headed.

And then, making provisions for the journey, to make sure we are headed in a direction that makes sense to us.

We will start by recapping the PMO trends that we are aware of and looking at our challenges in that light.

You will bring an awareness of the problems challenging your PMO, your questions, your hopes and your curiosity.

We will create a supportive place over the course of six sessions to experiment, explore, and take away some really useful ways of working.

I will share some prompts, some paths of possibility, and some roads that promise much, but there is always risk.  Such fun!

In session one, we saw a future where strategic alignment of the portfolio of change drives the shape of the future PMO. We saw some form of automation as part of that and wondered what maturity would mean in that context. In the second session, we explored our present condition and how PMOs being creatures of organisational evolution, face choices now that either expand possibilities or slide into extinction. A bright future is our right, but the zombie PMO lurks in dark, unexamined assumptions.

In this session, we take a look at a change in perspective and cover decision-making, complexity, change management and mind tools!
