The full agenda for PMO Insight Conference Edinburgh 2026 is now live, and we’re really pleased to finally share what we’ve been building for the two days in Edinburgh.
Over the last year, we’ve listened closely to the PMO community about where they need more help and confidence. The same themes keep coming up: too much data, reporting that takes effort without always driving action, uncertainty around AI, questions about tools and dashboards, and the challenge of helping leaders make better decisions.
Those conversations have shaped the conference. We’ve designed the programme as one connected journey through Data, Information, Knowledge, Wisdom and Action, with each session building on the last.
From reporting to decision-ready insight
Day One looks at where reporting starts to lose value and what needs to change if PMOs are going to provide more useful, decision-ready insight.
Alongside practitioner stories and a real PMO journey, we’ll explore some of the common problems that get in the way, from information that lacks context to reporting that does not clearly support the decisions leaders need to make. Delegates will also work with the Decision Canvas, starting with the decision itself and working backwards through the evidence, missing information, context, uncertainty, options and action required.
The day then moves into the bigger question of how PMOs turn information into knowledge, adding interpretation and judgement so that what reaches senior leaders is not simply another report, but something that helps them understand what matters and what needs to happen next.
Data, tools and AI
Day Two moves the conversation towards becoming a decision-enabling PMO, building on the work from Day One and asking what needs to be in place before insight can genuinely influence action.
We’ll look beneath the dashboard in the Data Confidence Lab, exploring the quality, freshness, usefulness and trustworthiness of the information PMOs rely on. We’ll also examine what PPM tools can and cannot fix, including where technology and automation can make a real difference and where human interpretation, context and challenge are still essential.
AI is an important part of that conversation too. Delegates will hear a practical PMO use case, looking at what AI actually did, what worked, what did not and where human review remained necessary. We’ll then explore the PMO’s growing role in AI governance, including evidence quality, uncertainty, accountability and assurance, before putting those ideas into practice with a steering committee scenario where delegates decide what can be trusted, what needs verifying, what should be challenged and what requires stronger governance.
Leave with something you can use
This is very much a working conference, with table exercises, clinics, roundtables and plenty of opportunities to explore the challenges delegates are facing in their own PMOs.
The work from Day One will feed into Day Two, and the conference finishes with every delegate creating a 90-day action plan to take back into their own organisation.
