From Conference Reporter – Monie Manugue
In the session ‘The PMO Future is Now: Utilising AI in the PMO with Microsoft Copilot AI’, Chris Edwards shared a survey that showed more people chose access to Microsoft (MS) Copilot over a free lunch.
I thought long and hard. I could savor lunch, even if it’s something that I paid for. Copilot, on the other hand, lets me savor the time that I save by using it.
The talk was a fascinating display of how Copilot is reshaping how PMOs can refocus effort to deliver even greater value to organisations. Copilot can help us with an extensive range of tasks, including meeting recaps, presentation preparation, and initiation of project plan tasks.
As a PMO, I like personal touch and the creativity that is my own. But Copilot has helped me with tasks such as translating pictures to insightful content after a brainstorm session, turning survey comments into actionable summaries and providing a gist from interesting documents and articles. One of my first few Copilot interactions was “Please summarize Pride and Prejudice in 1 paragraph 1000 words.”. I was happy with the results.
I agree that the Future is Now, and embracing the use of AI tools at our fingertips will make us more efficient, and competitive. Listening to this talk made me appreciate the effort that our Tech Resource Team exert to enable tools that improve our daily lives. At first, learning to use them is cumbersome, but as most would agree, it is time well spent. I know I will spend more time this summer learning more about Copilot use cases for PMO.
How much time have you spent learning about AI tools that will help us become more efficient?
I have a few reports prepared for the PMO conference. Are you able to discern if any of them got help from Copilot? 😊
