This month, PMO Flashmob heads to the iconic Crown and Anchor pub near Euston – and we’re taking inspiration from the name.

Our theme, “The Crown & Anchor Principle”, explores the duality of PMOs in organisations:

• The Crown represents the things PMOs are celebrated for – strategic alignment, delivery assurance, consistency, clarity, control. The big wins. The gold stars (or should that be jewels??)
• The Anchor represents the elements that often weigh PMOs down – resistance to change, bureaucracy perceptions, “process for the sake of process,” or simply being misunderstood.

In true PMO Flashmob fashion, we’ll be unpacking both sides of the story:

• What earns PMOs their seat at the table?
• And what quietly undermines their influence?

Featuring: The Crown & Anchor (PMO) Dice Game

To keep things lively, we’ll be playing a reimagined version of the classic Crown & Anchor dice game – with a PMO twist.

Did you know that “Crown and Anchor” is a traditional British naval game dating back to the 18th century. It was wildly popular with sailors in the Royal Navy – particularly because it’s simple, fast, and gloriously unfair – in other words, perfect for our social meetup!

What to Expect:

• A relaxed, social evening with fellow PMO and project professionals.
• A chance to explore the realities of PMO life through shared stories, conversations and insights.
• A light-hearted dice activity – using a set of custom PMO-themed outcomes to spark conversation about the crown and anchors of PMO life.
