In this session (previously livestreamed) the House of PMO join a Canadian based training organisation to chat about the House of PMO and the Essentials qualifications. With questions also taken from a live audience we touch on a number of different areas - all related to PMO career development.
In this session we take a look at the roles of PMO Analysts, Project Support Officers and Project Co-ordinators and reveal the top five things that really help people in these roles do a great job.
We will be looking at the different parts of the role and highlight which areas are the most important and have the biggest impact for your organisation today. We will also be looking at the competences, knowledge, skills and behaviours that great PMO Analysts have and how you too can follow those examples and perhaps think a little differently about your own role.
This session is also useful for anyone currently thinking getting into a PMO career and starting out as a PMO Analyst - or if you're already working in the role, some things to think about to get even better at
This time we covered Interviewing PMO People. In this session we looked at both interviewees and interviewers. Interestingly on this live session we had more conversation about interviewing PMO people as that seemed to be the case for the attendees. We covered off areas such as the questions to ask, the tips and pointers on how to interview well and things to think about if you're interviewing for people yourself such as the bias in play.

In this PMO Career Hour we looked at "Framing Your Experience" which took us down a number of different paths. We covered the different PMO contexts; communication; adding value; emerging roles, using self-assessments and framing your own experience as well as that of the PMO.
In this session we covered different areas of “taking ownership” – what that really means, what does it look like, how you can take ownership.
We’ll also looked closer at the “PMO career” and uncover lots of different avenues that should spark thoughts about your own career to date and where you want to be next.
