SUMMARY:Project Forum - The UK Project Management Industry Free Event
DESCRIPTION:For many years\, Project Challenge was a staple in the UK project management calendar\, offering a free day of learning\, seminars\, exhibitions and networking. It played an important role in helping practitioners discover new tools\, services and approaches and it was also where the House of PMO\, then PMO Flashmob\, regularly exhibited and grew connections within the wider PMO community. \nSince Project Challenge closed in recent years\, there has been a noticeable gap in the calendar for a free\, accessible event serving the whole UK project management profession. \nFollowing conversations with several House of PMO Conference sponsors\, the demand for a new industry-wide event became clear. With their support\, we’re delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new addition to the project management calendar. \nProject Forum will take place on 21st April 2026 in London\, offering a full programme of seminars\, birds-of-a-feather sessions\, an exhibition space\, and opportunities to connect with peers from across the profession. The event is free to attend and open to the entire UK project management community. \nThe House of PMO will be there in the exhibition area – you can find out more about the seminar and roundtable discussions we’re also running. [Check out our news] \nTo find out more and secure your free place\, visit: Project Forum

SUMMARY:PMO and the Accidental Project Managers
DESCRIPTION:When is a Project Manager Not a Project Manager? \nIn a world where organisations constantly try to get more done with fewer people\, many individuals find themselves unexpectedly thrust into project management roles.  And it can end up causing trouble – for them\, for their projects and\, of course\, for the PMO! \nIn this entertaining webinar\, experienced Project Manager turned PMO manager Jeremy Nicholls takes a look at the different types of non-project managers\, those accidental project managers that can be found in all corners of the business.  We’ll find out what makes them tick\, as well as their vulnerabilities (and\, yes\, strengths).  He’ll then look at how the PMO is placed to support each of them and help turn them from dangerous mavericks into project superstars. \nThis session is perfect for PMO professionals looking for ways to support these accidental project managers better or perhaps you yourself have found yourself managing projects unexpectedly. By the end of the webinar\, you’ll understand how to recognise the signs of an accidental project manager and\, more importantly\, how to harness their strengths with the right PMO interventions. \nAbout Jeremy Nicholls \nJeremy has worked as a project manager and PMO manager for some amazing clients over the course of his career including Linklaters LLP\, Barclays Wealth and Gatwick Airport. Nowadays\, he spends his time helping organisations deliver projects better through project consultancy\, coaching and training.  His book on project fundamentals\, The Everyday Project Manager\, is published by Routledge Press and is available to order at https://everydaypm.co.uk.
