SUMMARY:Introduction to the new Resource Management Course
DESCRIPTION:This webinar introduces the Resource Management course developed for PMO Learning\, grounded in the House of PMO Resource Management Report (2025). It covers the Circle of Resource Management across Project\, Resource and Portfolio lenses\, and uses the five-stage Maturity Model to help you diagnose where your organisation actually is and what realistic next steps look like at your level. \nResource Management for PMOs: From Gut Feel to Better Decisions\nYou know the situation. \nSomeone asks\, “Who is available?” and nobody is quite sure. A project needs people\, but the same names keep appearing. Capacity looks fine on paper\, until delivery starts creaking. Decisions get made on gut feel\, the PMO gets blamed for gaps it could see coming but could not stop\, and the same conversations come round again next quarter. \nResource management is one of those areas that everyone agrees is important\, but very few organisations feel they have properly cracked. It sits across projects\, portfolios\, line management\, finance\, governance and workforce planning – which means it is rarely solved by one spreadsheet\, one tool\, or one PMO person trying to make sense of it all on a Friday afternoon. \nThis webinar introduces the Resource Management course developed for PMO Learning\, grounded in the House of PMO Resource Management Report 2025. \nWe will explore the Circle of Resource Management\, looking at the topic through three connected lenses: \n\nProject – understanding the resource needs of individual projects and delivery teams.\nResource – understanding availability\, capability\, allocation and constraints.\nPortfolio – understanding demand\, priorities\, trade-offs and the bigger organisational picture.\n\n \nWe will also introduce the five-stage Resource Management Maturity Model\, helping you diagnose where your organisation actually is today – not where the leadership says it is\, or where everyone wishes it was. From there\, we will look at what realistic next steps might look like depending on your current level of maturity. \nThis session is not about pretending resource management is easy. It is about making it more visible\, more structured and more useful for decision-making. \nWhat we’ll cover\nIn this webinar\, we’ll look at: \n\nWhy resource management remains such a persistent challenge for PMOs\nThe different perspectives of project\, resource and portfolio management\nHow the Circle of Resource Management helps connect demand\, supply and decision-making\nHow to use the maturity model to understand your organisation’s current position\nWhat “good” might look like at different levels of maturity\nPractical next steps for PMOs that want to move beyond chasing updates and maintaining spreadsheets\n\nWho should attend?\nThis session is ideal for PMO professionals working in or around resource management\, portfolio management\, delivery planning\, governance\, reporting or strategic prioritisation. \nIt will be especially useful if your PMO is trying to improve visibility of resource demand\, support better prioritisation conversations\, or move away from resource decisions based mainly on confidence\, optimism and crossed fingers. \nWhy join?\nYou’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the resource management challenges many PMOs face\, a practical model for thinking about maturity\, and ideas for how your PMO can start improving the conversation in a way that fits your organisation’s reality. \nBecause let’s be honest – “we’ll just find someone” is not a resource strategy.

SUMMARY:Inside PMO Report / Specialist Roles in the PMO
DESCRIPTION:Following the official launch of the Inside PMO Report 2026 at the PMO Conference\, join House of PMO for this virtual session exploring the key findings from this year’s report: Specialist Roles in the PMO – Career Paths\, Capability and the Future Shape of PMO. \nAs organisations ask more of their PMOs – better data\, stronger governance\, clearer insight and more joined-up ways of working – specialist capability is becoming more visible. But what does that mean for PMO professionals\, PMO leaders and the future shape of PMO teams? \nIn this session\, we’ll share the highlights from the report and the presentation first delivered at the PMO Conference. We’ll look at why generalist PMO roles still provide an important foundation\, when specialist roles begin to emerge\, and how areas such as data\, governance\, assurance\, benefits\, resource management and PMO systems are evolving. \nWe’ll also explore the idea of the T-shaped PMO professional – balancing broad PMO understanding with deeper expertise – and consider why the future PMO may be defined less by job titles and more by the capabilities it develops and the value it enables. \nJoin us on Tuesday 30th June at 12.30pm BST for a practical look at the report findings and what they mean for the future of PMO. \n

SUMMARY:Collaboration: A Crucial PMO Skill
DESCRIPTION:You’ve been in that room. \nEveryone agreed to collaborate. Then nobody really did. \nOne person’s view dominated. The quieter voices stayed quiet. What came out the other end was managed agreement dressed up as consensus. \nIn this interactive virtual session\, we’ll explore collaboration as a core skill within the PMO Competency Framework\, looking at what genuine collaboration actually requires\, why goodwill and positive intent are not enough on their own\, and how PMO professionals can create better conditions for people to contribute\, challenge\, listen and move work forward together. \nThe session is aimed at PMO practitioners who want to keep evolving how they support teams\, stakeholders and decision-making\, the session will be practical\, conversational and grounded in the realities of the job\, with space to share examples\, learn from others and reflect on the collaboration habits that help – and those that don’t. \nThe session is presented by Zoe O’Toole\, experienced PMO practitioner\, consultant and trainer\, who delivers many of the Essential courses at the House of PMO. \nBook your place today

SUMMARY:The Competency Framework for PMO Administrators
DESCRIPTION:Following on from the PMO Administrator Summer School we take a look at the PMO Competency Framework Self-Assessment and how it can be used to help career development in the PMO. \nIn this session we will be looking at the Self-Assessment tool itself and sharing how to self-assess against the competences\, knowledge\, skills and behaviours. We will also look at how we can use the tool to help plan our development – through understanding where our gaps might lie and crucially\, practical ways to help close those gaps. \nWe also get into formal development plans and how CPD can help us develop as individuals. All this from just one membership benefit at the House of PMO. \nWho is this session for?\nFor anyone currently working at the PMO Administrator level; looking to get into PMO or project management; students and others who are keen to understand PMO Administration as a career. \n

SUMMARY:Which PMO Qualification Is Right for You?
DESCRIPTION:With so many project\, portfolio and PMO qualifications available\, choosing the right one can feel harder than completing the course itself! \nThis 45-minute session will help you make sense of the options by starting with the work you do now\, the role you want next and the capability you need to develop. We’ll explore the different qualification routes available to PMO professionals\, from role-based learning for PMO Administrators\, Analysts\, Managers and Directors to broader PMO models\, portfolio management and specialist subjects. \nRather than running through a catalogue of courses\, we’ll use practical career scenarios\, common qualification myths and a simple decision-making framework to help you identify the learning that best fits your needs. \nYou’ll leave with a clearer understanding of: \n\nThe different types of PMO qualifications available\nWhich qualifications suit different PMO roles and career stages\nWhen a broad qualification or specialist course might be more useful\nHow to turn formal learning into practical development at work\nThe questions to ask before committing your time and budget\n\nWhether you are new to PMO\, looking to take your next career step or supporting the development of a PMO team\, this session will help you choose your next move with greater confidence.

SUMMARY:AI for PMOs: Practical Applications & Strategy / London
DESCRIPTION:AI is helping plenty of people work faster\, but that doesn’t automatically mean the whole organisation is getting better results. In many cases\, AI has simply been added to existing ways of working\, a bit like adding another tab to an already chaotic spreadsheet and hoping it somehow sorts everything out! \nIn this face-to-face PMO Masterclass\, John McIntyre will look at how PMOs can move beyond random experiments and start using AI in a more joined-up\, practical way. We’ll explore where AI genuinely helps\, where human judgement still matters\, and how to avoid spending more time checking and fixing AI output than the time it was supposed to save. \nUsing familiar PMO examples such as meeting actions\, lessons learned and reporting\, John will share practical ideas you can test straight away. You’ll leave with a clearer view of how the PMO can help turn AI from an interesting tool into something that delivers real value. \nWho is it for?\nThis face-to-face PMO Masterclass is for PMO professionals who want to move beyond casual\, individual use of AI and understand how it can support better processes\, governance and organisational outcomes. \nThe session will be presented by John McIntyre of HotPMO. \nWhat will the masterclass cover?\nThe session explores why AI may be making individuals more productive without necessarily improving the organisation around them. \nJohn will look at how PMOs can move from simply bolting AI onto existing activities towards redesigning repeatable\, accountable and auditable ways of working. \nPractical examples will include: \n\nturning meeting transcripts into managed actions\nusing AI to keep lessons learned alive and useful\ncreating more consistent and auditable reporting processes\nbalancing AI capability with human judgement\nintroducing clearer accountability\, governance and cost visibility\n\n\nWhen is it taking place?\nThursday 17 September 2026 – 5.30pm to 8.00pm \nWhere is it being held?\nNationwide\, Holborn\, London \nThis is an in-person event\, giving attendees the opportunity to learn\, discuss ideas and share experiences with fellow PMO professionals. \nWhy should you attend?\nMany organisations are experimenting with AI\, but fewer are successfully turning that experimentation into measurable value. \nPMOs are well placed to help bridge that gap through benefits management\, change management\, process discipline\, governance and outcome-focused thinking. The session will explore why redesign and integration\, rather than the technology alone\, could become a significant PMO capability. \nHow will the session help?\nAttendees will leave with practical experiments they can try immediately\, alongside a clearer understanding of where AI belongs within PMO processes and where human oversight must remain. \nThe aim is not simply to help people use AI more often. It is to help PMOs use it more deliberately\, safely and effectively.

AI doesn’t solve disconnected systems\, inconsistent processes\, or poor-quality data – it amplifies them. The organisations seeing real value from AI are those that have first invested in digital maturity. \nThis session explores how PMOs can build a single source of truth by connecting project\, portfolio\, resource\, and risk data within the Microsoft ecosystem. We’ll demonstrate how better governance\, integrated reporting\, and intelligent automation create the foundation for AI-driven forecasting\, portfolio insights\, and decision support. Rather than replacing existing investments\, attendees will discover how to unlock more value from Microsoft 365\, Power Platform\, Power BI\, and Copilot using a pragmatic\, phased approach. \nKey takeaways: \n\nWhy AI success depends on trusted\, connected project and portfolio data.\nHow to establish a single source of truth using the Microsoft Power Platform.\nPractical ways to automate reporting\, governance\, and routine PMO activities.\nA realistic roadmap for evolving from manual reporting to AI-powered portfolio intelligence.\n\n\n4.15pm – 4.35pm – Sharing One \nRoom discussions \n4.35pm – 4.50pm – The House of PMO \nA short session from the House of PMO about developments in the PMO profession. \n4.50pm – 5.00pm – Closing reflections \nA summary of the main themes from the afternoon and an invitation for attendees to identify one action they will take back to their PMO. \n\nWho should attend?\nThe event is for people working in or alongside PMOs across healthcare\, police\, fire\, ambulance\, government and other complex or highly regulated organisations. \nIt will be particularly relevant for Heads of PMO\, PMO Managers\, PMO Directors\, Portfolio Managers\, Programme Office leads and PMO practitioners. \nWhy attend?\nYou’ll hear honest experiences from people working in pressured public service environments\, connect with PMO peers and leave with practical ideas to take back to your own organisation. \nJoin the Blue Light PMO community in Leeds and continue the conversation about what PMOs need to support complex and highly regulated organisations. \nFree to attend\, but places are limited\nThis is a free in-person event\, supported by Power Framework. \nPlaces are limited to help keep the afternoon focused and give attendees plenty of opportunity to contribute to the discussion. Please only book if you are intending to attend. \nWe know plans can change\, so if you secure a place and later find you can’t make it\, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer it to someone else. \nBook your free place and join the Blue Light PMO community in Leeds.

SUMMARY:Is AI Really Delivering? Five Questions Every PMO Should Ask
DESCRIPTION:In this session we take a look at organisations delivering AI-based initiatives / projects and what the PMO needs to know about supporting them. \nRamzi Kaïache is our presenter – Head of Central Operations & Strategy – AI Transformation & Global Capability Centre at Canada Life – and by the end of the session you’ll have a five-question diagnostic you can run on a live initiative in fifteen minutes. Ramzi is also just about to publish his book – Make AI Deliver. \nHere’s the scenario: \nThe dashboard is green\, AI performance is improving\, user numbers are rising and benefits appear on track. Yet teams are still relying on spreadsheets\, using old processes and failing to deliver the promised improvements. \nThe reporting is accurate\, but it measures activity rather than real change. \nAI projects often change as teams learn what the technology can do. This means traditional milestones\, stage gates and status reports may not show whether the work is delivering real results. \nPMOs are well placed to spot this gap because they see across the portfolio and can intervene early. AI did not create the delivery gap\, but it has made it wider and more costly. \nUsing an example from a 500-initiative transformation portfolio\, this session explores what PMOs should measure in AI-enabled work. Attendees will leave with five questions they can use to assess any live initiative in just 15 minutes. \nLearning Outcomes\nAttendees will learn how to: \n\nIdentify what is holding back an AI initiative\nTurn activity-based reporting into evidence sponsors can act on\nEstablish who will own and sustain the outcome after the delivery team has moved on\n\n  \nWhat Attendees Take Away\n\nA five-question checklist they can use on any initiative in 15 minutes\nPractical lessons from a real transformation portfolio\nA clearer understanding of what the PMO can and cannot own in AI-enabled delivery\n\n  \nWho Should Attend\nIntermediate to senior PMO levels – no AI or technical background required. \nAbout Ramzi\nRamzi Kaïache is a transformation executive with roughly two decades leading large-scale digital and AI programmes in regulated industries\, principally financial services and insurance. He currently leads central operations and AI transformation at a Canadian insurer. In a previous role he was accountable for a multi-year\, multi-country transformation portfolio spanning platform foundations\, workflow automation across underwriting\, claims and contact centre operations\, and a digital estate consolidation covering more than five thousand properties. Author of the forthcoming Make AI Deliver. Based in Toronto. \n  \n

SUMMARY:AI in the PMO: Useful\, Uncomfortable and Unavoidable? / Edinburgh
DESCRIPTION:AI is moving quickly from something we experiment with to something that is beginning to change how organisations plan\, deliver and manage change. But what does that actually mean for PMOs and the people working within them? \nJoin the House of PMO in Edinburgh for an after-work evening of drinks\, pizza\, networking and conversation as we bring together a panel of PMO and change professionals to explore AI in the real world. \nWe’ll start the evening with a short House of PMO briefing\, sharing what we’re seeing across the PMO profession right now and some of the questions emerging around AI\, before handing over to our panel. \nRather than another session about what AI might do one day\, we’ll get into the conversations PMO practitioners are having now: where AI is genuinely proving useful\, where the hype is getting ahead of reality\, what organisations are comfortable with\, what they’re worried about\, and how the role of the PMO might change as adoption grows. \nExpect different perspectives\, practical examples\, plenty of audience questions and probably a few disagreements along the way. \nAnd remember\, this is the House of PMO\, so there will be an empty seat available! \nDoors open at 5.30pm for drinks\, pizza and networking\, with the House of PMO briefing and panel session beginning at 6.15pm.

SUMMARY:Inside the House of PMO: Your Membership Tour
DESCRIPTION:Working in a PMO can sometimes feel like you’re expected to know everything\, solve anything and somehow keep up with a profession that is continually evolving – often without many people around you who really understand the role. \nIn this 30-minute session\, we’ll take you inside the House of PMO and show you how membership can support your career\, your day-to-day work and the development of your PMO. You’ll discover the practical resources available\, including the PMO Competency Framework and PMO Service Catalogue\, alongside member events\, career sessions\, expert content\, tools\, templates and opportunities to learn from other PMO professionals. \nRather than simply running through a list of benefits\, we’ll explore how members can use them to tackle familiar challenges: understanding what good looks like\, developing their skills\, finding ideas for improving PMO services\, building confidence in their role and connecting with people facing similar situations. \nWhether you’re new to PMO\, looking for your next career move\, leading a team or trying to strengthen the contribution your PMO makes\, this session will help you understand what’s available and how to make practical use of it. You’ll leave with a clearer picture of the House of PMO community and whether becoming a member is the right next step for you.

SUMMARY:PMO Career Hour - When You’ve Outgrown Your Role
DESCRIPTION:There comes a point in many PMO careers when a role that once felt challenging starts to feel a little too comfortable. You might be doing the job well\, but learning less or perhaps you’ve taken on responsibilities beyond your job title\, there’s nowhere obvious to progress\, or you’re simply beginning to wonder\, what next? \nOutgrowing your role doesn’t automatically mean it’s time to leave – sometimes the right move is to stretch the role you already have\, reshape it around new responsibilities\, develop a specialist area\, move sideways into a different type of PMO\, or have a conversation about progression and promotion. And sometimes\, of course\, it really is time to move on. \nIn this members-only PMO Career Hour\, we’ll explore how to recognise the signs that you may have outgrown your current role and\, more importantly\, how to work out what to do about it. \nWe’ll look at the different options available within a PMO career\, how to distinguish between being comfortable\, frustrated and genuinely ready for something new\, and how to assess whether the opportunity you need could still exist inside your current organisation. \nWe’ll also talk about the practical career conversations that can feel difficult to start – asking for more responsibility\, making the case for progression\, exploring sideways moves and deciding when staying put may actually be holding you back. \nAs always with Career Hour\, this is an informal and interactive session. Bring your questions\, experiences and career dilemmas and join other House of PMO members who may be asking exactly the same thing: \nHave I outgrown my role – and if I have\, what should I do next?

SUMMARY:AI and the PMO Service Catalogue: Rethinking How PMO Services Are Delivered / Newcastle
DESCRIPTION:AI isn’t just going to help PMOs do the same work faster\, it has the potential to change the work itself. \nReporting\, governance\, assurance\, planning\, resourcing\, insight\, decision support – almost every PMO service could be affected as AI capability develops. The interesting question\, then\, isn’t simply “How can we use AI?” It’s “What should our PMO services look like in an AI-enabled world?” \nIn this interactive session\, we’ll use the new House of PMO Service Catalogue to explore that question. \nFor the first time\, the catalogue considers how AI could support the delivery of individual PMO services – from reducing routine administration and analysing large volumes of information\, to spotting patterns\, generating insight and supporting better decisions. \nThe real opportunity goes beyond automation\nTogether\, we’ll explore the difference between using AI to make an existing service quicker and using it to rethink how that service is designed and delivered. We’ll also look at the places where human judgement\, context\, challenge\, relationships and accountability remain crucial. \nParticipants will get hands-on too\, working with a familiar PMO service to explore how it could evolve as AI becomes more capable. \nBy the end of the session\, you’ll have a clearer understanding of where AI could make a practical difference to PMO work\, where its boundaries lie\, and how the House of PMO Service Catalogue can help you review and develop your own service offering. \nYou don’t need to be an AI expert. You just need to be ready to ask a bigger question: \nIf AI changes how PMO work gets done\, how should the PMO itself change? \n  \nWhat you need to know\nA face 2 face event taking place on Thursday 22nd October from 5.30pm to 8.00pm – this is an in-person event. \nThe event will take place at Newcastle Building Society\, 1 Cobalt Way\, Wallsend\, NE28 9EJ \nTickets required to gain access to the event\, please RSVP to secure your place. \n
