Our lodger Nicole Reilly is sitting comfortably in the Tool Shed and ready to open the doors to a virtual session all about the Microsoft Power Platform.
We've had lots of requests to do a session on PowerBI, Power Automate and Power Apps - but where to start?!
The day to day responsibilities of a PMO Administrator explained
Join House of PMO’s Eileen Roden and Lindsay Scott as they explain the role of a PMO Administrator, also known as a Project Co-ordinator or Project Support Officer.
An exclusive House of PMO member event which takes place bi-monthly.
This hour session gives you the opportunity to take part in a session which is 100% focused on PMO careers.
You have the option to add a question of your own or just join in and take part in the career-related discussion.
The first part of this month's session is dedicated to one aspect of PMO careers, decided on by members - the second part, to answering member questions.
We all have something to share from our own personal experiences and we definitely take away something when we hear what has worked for others.
This session is open to anyone interested in career management - at any level of PMO experience - and within any role.
Registration required - free to paid members
Remember when we were all stunned back in March 2020? #PMOwfh was our weekly Wednesday afternoon show that helped a lot of us through those difficult first few months as we adjusted to lockdown.
We loved those afternoons working from home, and on reflection, we still think it's a great idea for bringing PMO people together - for an hour we mixed it up with short presentations, Q&As, 10 in 10, a poll of the week, stories and insights from across the PMO and P3M community.
This time we'll be running #PMOwfh on a monthly basis - session on the 15th of March at 12.15pm UK time.
Join us for an hour of sharing, networking, chats and ridiculous jingles as we start up our monthly shows designed to put a spring in your step and a real feeling of community.
In this session we are joined by Adrian Dooley, creator of Praxis Framework, which has a maturity assessment for projects, programmes and portfolios which can be accessed - free of charge - used and the outcomes recorded. It's called Maturity 360.
Alongside Adrian, Eileen will be looking at the PMO side of maturity assessments - why carry them out and how the PMO can use them to improve on their own service offerings for the business.
In this session, we've invited Pragmatic PMO - Ken Burrell - who has been a PMO contractor for over ten years - to share his insights on how he became a contractor and more crucially, how he's managed to make a long-term career working on a freelance basis.
There are lots of avenues that could be explored like how do you know when is the right time to go contracting? Which option should I choose - contracting, fixed-term, consulting? What do you need to know about the financial implications? How to get started in a new contract position and what to watch out for?
A new type of event from House of PMO - the 'super series'.
The super series takes place over 6 months with one event a month - all focused on a specific PMO topic. We launch the series with an Agile PMO Super Series.
The session is hosted by our agility lodger Matthew Milsom and you're invited to take part in any of the sessions - if you're really keen to learn about anything and everything agile/Agile in your role, consider attending all six of the sessions.
How it Works
Register and add your response to the first question - 'what would you like to see covered in this first session?'
Your responses help to create the super series backlog and at the end of each session, a new crowdsourced area of interest for the next session is chosen.
In other words, it's you, the attendee that chooses what the sessions are focused on.
You can attend all the sessions or just dip into the ones that interest you the most.
The sessions are free to online and full members - a small fee for those that are currently free members.
