SUMMARY:The Night Before Project Forum: Project Conversations That Matter
DESCRIPTION:Pre-Project Forum: What’s Making Delivery Harder (or Easier?)\nMonday 20th April | 6:00pmThe Angelic\, 57 Liverpool Rd\, London N1 0RJ \nBefore Project Forum begins\, join us for an informal evening with people who are right in the thick of delivery. \nProjects are getting more complex. Expectations keep rising. Tools and approaches are everywhere. And yet… some things are clearly helping\, while others are just adding friction. \nSo what’s actually making delivery simpler right now?And what’s quietly getting in the way? \nThis is your chance to step away from presentations and into real conversation. No slides. No sales pitches. Just honest insight from across the project\, programme\, and PMO community. \nWe’ll kick things off with a short opener from John McIntyre (HotPMO)\, sharing what he’s seeing across delivery teams and then we open it up. \nYou’ll hear what others are trying\, what’s working\, what’s not and where thinking is shifting. More importantly\, you’ll get to test your own ideas with people facing the same challenges. \nBy the time Tuesday arrives\, you won’t just be attending Project Forum – you’ll already be part of it. \nPlaces are limited – secure your spot and start the conversation early. Everyone welcome!

SUMMARY:Project Forum - The UK Project Management Industry Free Event
DESCRIPTION:For many years\, Project Challenge was a staple in the UK project management calendar\, offering a free day of learning\, seminars\, exhibitions and networking. It played an important role in helping practitioners discover new tools\, services and approaches and it was also where the House of PMO\, then PMO Flashmob\, regularly exhibited and grew connections within the wider PMO community. \nSince Project Challenge closed in recent years\, there has been a noticeable gap in the calendar for a free\, accessible event serving the whole UK project management profession. \nFollowing conversations with several House of PMO Conference sponsors\, the demand for a new industry-wide event became clear. With their support\, we’re delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new addition to the project management calendar. \nProject Forum will take place on 21st April 2026 in London\, offering a full programme of seminars\, birds-of-a-feather sessions\, an exhibition space\, and opportunities to connect with peers from across the profession. The event is free to attend and open to the entire UK project management community. \nThe House of PMO will be there in the exhibition area – you can find out more about the seminar and roundtable discussions we’re also running. [Check out our news] \nTo find out more and secure your free place\, visit: Project Forum

SUMMARY:Behaviours of a Successful PMO (In-Person Event)
DESCRIPTION:What we do\, how we show up\, and why it matters\nWhat really makes a PMO successful? It’s rarely the frameworks or the tools alone – it’s the behaviours behind them. \nThis interactive session explores the behaviours that underpin effective PMOs\, drawing directly from the PMO Competency Framework and insights from the Inside PMO research. We’ll look at behaviour at three levels: \n\nindividual PMO professionals\,\nPMO teams\,\nand the PMO as an organisational entity.\n\nBecause behaviour isn’t just personal. When it’s consistent and collective\, it shapes trust\, influence\, and outcomes. \n  \nWhy behaviour matters\nPMOs don’t operate in a vacuum. Organisational culture\, pressure\, incentives\, and context all influence how a PMO behaves day to day. \nWe’ll explore why behaviours that work well in a portfolio PMO might not land in a project office or a centre of excellence\, and how context changes what ‘good’ looks like. We’ll also look at the unintended behaviours PMOs can drift into under pressure – and what to do about them. \nWe’ll unpack: \n\nWhy some PMO behaviours stick\nWhy others create friction or resistance\nHow small\, intentional shifts can make a big difference to credibility and engagement\n\n  \nWhat to expect\nThis isn’t a one‑way presentation. \nExpect discussion\, reflection\, and shared experience with people who understand the realities of PMO work. You’ll be encouraged to think about your own PMO context\, challenge assumptions\, and learn from others in the room. \nYou’ll leave with practical insight you can apply straight back in your PMO – whether that’s in how you influence\, how your team works together\, or how the PMO is perceived across the organisation. \nExpect discussion\, reflection\, and shared experience – not a one-way presentation. This session is ideal for experienced PMO professionals who want to evolve their practice\, learn from peers\, and leave with practical insight they can apply straight back in their PMO. \nWe’ll keep you fed and watered throughout the session with drinks and nibbles. \n  \nWho’s leading the session\nThis session is led by Carol Hindley and Eileen Roden – co-authors of the PMO Competency FRamework both highly experienced PMO practitioners with a strong focus on how PMOs really operate in practice. They bring deep insight into PMO behaviours\, capability development\, and the realities PMOs face inside complex organisations. Expect practical perspectives\, honest discussion\, and facilitation that encourages shared learning rather than theory-heavy answers. \n  \n\nEvent details\nLocation\nNationwide House\nPipers Way\nSwindon\nSN3 1TA \nTimings\n5.30pm – arrival and networking\n6.00pm – session starts\n8.00pm – finish \nTickets\nFree for members\n£10 + VAT for non‑members \nPlaces are limited.
